Yappy Hour 2010 “VIVA PAWS VEGAS” at The Fairmont Hotel

Thursday April 8^th was Yappy Hour 2010….VIVA PAWS VEGAS!

Yappy Hour is theme costume cocktail hour (well, technically it’s 3 hours long) for dogs and their owners.  It’s a fund raising even for The Winnipeg Humane Society held at the Fairmont Winnipeg Hotel in the heart of the city at Portage and Main.  I’ve been involved with it since its inception back in 2006, even serving on the organizing committee twice.  As per usual,  I set up a portable studio on location and we created portraits of the dogs and their owners on the spot with all profits going to the WHS.  As you can imagine, it’s a pretty hectic  with a couple hundred dogs in the grand ballroom of the Fairmont!

Special thanks to a fellow photographer friend of mine Marlene Fast HLM, MPA,  SPA, F.Ph. of Marlene’s Designer Portraits  who was on my laptop working like a dog (yes, that pun was intended!) to do artwork on the images and print them off of people in only matter of minutes.  Together we were able to raise several hundred dollars for The Winnipeg Humane  Society to help out four legged friends in need.
