Meet Lacy and Ryan – I photographed their wedding at the Niverville Heritage Centre on April 10th. Though the day was scheduled very differently than the majority of the wedding I work with, we still were able to give them outstanding photographs in the limited time we had. We photographed Lacy and the ladies first, then Ryan and the guys next. Only after the ceremony during the cocktail hour were we able to do any photographs with them together, along with images of the bridal party and families. Doing the bulk of the photographs in under an hour can be stressful, but we managed to make it fun and enjoyable while still accomplish everything we set out to do and more.
Before the ceremony however, we had lots of fun with the girls and the guy shots. The guys had a couple monster trucks, as you’ll see. I knew I had the groomsmen co-operation when the father of the groom had mentioned to me that the guys thought I was nuts! They never imagined a photographer would allow them to do the types of photographs I did for them…never mind tehfcat that it was my idea! I had them pull the trucks up onto a railroad track for some cool looking shots of the guys, as well as did a portrait of the groom alone while both trucks were smoking their tires behind him with the help of a spray liquid on the tires for traction!
Overall, the wedding was a blast!
You’ll also notice in a couple photographs a smaller inset photograph of me photographing the main image. I go to all extremes for my clients- evening lying down in the middle of busy street if needed to get the angle that is required(both to show what I want to show and to hide what I want to hide in any particular image). Don’t be surprised to see me show up with a ladder – whatever it takes to get the job done. It goes without saying I spend a lot on dry-cleaning. 🙂 Here’s a tip for all you brides out there. When you are super hot on the day the best way to cool down is having someone fan the dress like you see me doing in a couple images here…..I’ve made more than a few fans for life with that move!
Hope you enjoy the images!
